Senator Rick Scott said, “The arrest of pro-democracy legislators is yet another startling escalation from Beijing’s puppets in Hong Kong. The people of Hong Kong are fighting for the autonomy they were promised in 1997 and for the human rights they deserve. Communist China’s efforts to crack down on the protests in Hong Kong reflect their commitment to denying basic human rights and sniffing out opposition of any kind to their totalitarian goals. It’s time for the world to stand and present a unified front against China’s aggression.”
