Sen. Rick Scott Announces McKinley Lewis as Communications Director
December 10, 2020
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Rick Scott announced that McKinley Lewis will serve as his Communications Director, effective January 2021, following the departure of current Communications Director, Chris Hartline, who will be serving as Communications Director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Sarah Schwirian will be Deputy Communications Director, Clare Lattanze will be Press Secretary and Alexandra Ojeda will continue in her role as Hispanic Press Secretary.
Senator Rick Scott said, “I’m excited to welcome McKinley as my new Communications Director. He has been a valued member of the team for years and will bring all of his skills, talents and energy to this new role. Chris Hartline, who will be moving over to lead communications at the National Republican Senatorial Committee, has built a strong foundation over my first two years in the Senate. I’m confident that I have the best communications team in Washington – a team that is dedicated to serving the people of Florida – and I look forward to seeing the new things we’ll be able to accomplish for Florida families under McKinley’s leadership.”
McKinley Lewis will serve as Communications Director, effective January 2021. Lewis currently serves as a Senior Vice President of Accounts at On 3 Public Relations and most recently served as Deputy Communications Director for Florida Gov. Rick Scott. He previously served as the Communications Director and Press Secretary for the Florida Department of Corrections. Prior to that time, he was a communications specialist at the Florida Department of Health. Lewis is a 2013 graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Communications. Lewis lives with his wife, Capt. Meghan Lewis, M.D., daughters, Addison and Emma, and two dogs, Koda and Tucker.
