Senator Rick Scott said, "I have been blessed to live the American Dream and it has given me the opportunity to donate my salary every quarter to deserving charities. This quarter, I will be donating my salary to Mercy Home in Chicago. The organization provides a safe home to children who have experienced abuse and neglect. I unfortunately learned about this charity through tragedy. My friend, Alex Castellanos, tragically and suddenly lost his son, Alexander, in October. Mercy Home is an organization Alexander worked with before his passing and my wife, Ann, and I are incredibly proud to honor his life by supporting this charity. I cannot imagine the immense pain of losing a child, and Ann and I continue to keep Alex, Susan and Catherine in our thoughts and prayers."
