PHOTO RELEASE Sen. Rick Scott Visits Local Businesses Impacted by Hurricane Ian in Goodland

October 9, 2022

GOODLAND, Fla.—Today, Senator Rick Scott visited Stan’s Idle Hour Seafood, Kirk’s Fish Company and the Crabby Lady in Goodland where he met with families and local business owners who were impacted by Hurricane Ian.

Senator Rick Scott said, “Each time a hurricane brings devastation upon our state, the incredible resiliency and strength of Florida families carries us forward. Like it did in so many communities across Southwest Florida, Ian brought devastating storm surge to Goodland. The damage here is heartbreaking. Homes and businesses are destroyed, but the entrepreneurs and families I met today are coming together to rebuild and recover. Floridians are tough, but we can’t get through this alone. That’s why I am fighting every day, and with every tool at my disposal, to make sure that the federal government keeps showing up and provides our communities with every resource needed to rebuild and recover. We have a long road ahead, but we will get through this together.”

See Senator Scott's Hurricane Information webpage HERE. Senator Scott urges Floridians impacted by the storm to follow guidance from local officials. Stay up-to-date with information from your local Emergency Management officials. Impacted Floridians should not return home until the area is declared to be safe by local officials.
