Sen. Rick Scott & Colleagues Introduce Resolution Commemorating 62nd Anniversary of The Bay of Pigs Invasion and Remembering the Members of Assault Brigade 2506

This week, Rick Scott joined Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz to introduce a resolution commemorating the 62nd anniversary of the Bay of Pigs operation and remembering the members of Brigada de Asalto 2506 (Assault Brigade 2506). Representative Mario Díaz-Balart will introduce companion legislation in the House of Representatives.

RUBIO, DÍAZ-BALART, COLLEAGUES INTRODUCE RESOLUTION COMMEMORATING 62ND ANNIVERSARY OF THE BAY OF PIGS INVASION AND REMEMBERING THE MEMBERS OF ASSAULT BRIGADE 2506

 

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) introduced a resolution commemorating the 62nd anniversary of the Bay of Pigs operation and remembering the members of Brigada de Asalto 2506 (Assault Brigade 2506). 

 

Senators Rick Scott (R-FL) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) are original cosponsors of the resolution. 

 

  • “Whereas April 17, 2023, marks the 62nd anniversary of the first day of the Bay of Pigs operation, an event held dear in the hearts of many who long for the return of freedom, democracy, and justice to Cuba”
  • “Whereas Assault Brigade 2506 consisted of individuals, primarily Cuban exiles in the United States, from diverse backgrounds, including doctors, nurses, engineers, architects, priests, cooks, musicians, actors, business owners, barbers, bankers, construction workers, office clerks, students, pilots, and many other individuals representing different sectors in Cuba” 

 

U.S. Representative Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL) will introduce companion legislation in the House.

El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) presentó una resolución conmemorando el aniversario 62 de Bahía de Cochinos y recordando a los integrantes de la Brigada de Asalto 2506.

 

Los senadores Rick Scott (R-FL) y Ted Cruz (R-TX) son co-patrocinadores originales de la resolución.
