WASHINGTON, D.C.—This week, Senator Rick Scott was joined by his Republican colleagues to hold a press conference to discuss the disastrous consequences of President Biden’s refusal to secure the border during the first two years of his presidency and inexcusable failure to prepare for the expiration of Title 42, which ended at midnight and has led to more than 10,000 migrants illegally crossing the southern border every day.

Last week, Senator Scott visited the United States’ southern border with Mexico near Del Rio, Texas to receive a briefing from state and federal law enforcement officers, including U.S. Border Patrol and Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Air & Marine Operations and the Texas Department of Public Safety, on the massive national security and humanitarian crisis along the southern border being fueled by President Biden’s disastrous policies of amnesty and open borders.

Senator Rick Scott said, “Just last week I was in Del Rio talking to border patrol and again seeing the massive crisis President Biden’s policies have created. I have been to the southern border three times since President Biden took office, and the crisis is worse each time I visit. What every American should be worried about are the criminals, drug smugglers, human traffickers, terrorists and Chinese spies coming across our border. Just days ago a monster who came here illegally MURDERED an innocent American family. We should all be outraged.

“If the Biden administration cared about the American people, they wouldn’t allow a massive border crisis to go unchecked. If Joe Biden cared about Florida families, he would order DHS to secure the border by finishing the wall and connecting all the technology we have available to deter and detect illegal crossings. Neither of those things has happened because Joe Biden doesn’t give a damn about the American people, our security, or the security of the United States. America’s brave border patrol is working around the clock to keep Americans safe but they have no support from the administration and the expiration of Title 42 with zero planning by Biden has endangered their lives. This crisis was 100% preventable and Joe Biden is 100% responsible for the chaos we are all seeing on the border today.”
