WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, on the second anniversary of the Cuban protests for freedom, ‘Patria y Vida’, Senator Rick Scott shared remarks at the Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba press conference to call out the illegitimate communist Castro/Díaz-Canel regime for their brutal oppression, persecution and torture of Cubans.

Since the July 11 demonstrations began, Senator Scott has continued to condemn the Castro/Díaz-Canel regime’s brutal oppression of the Cuban people and demand action from the Biden administration and international leaders to support the Cuban people. Earlier today, Senator Scott released a video highlighting the fight for freedom, democracy and ‘Patria y Vida’ in Cuba and calls out the illegitimate communist Castro/Díaz-Canel regime for its brutal oppression, persecution and torture. The video shares testimony from former Cuban political prisoners and families and loved ones of current prisoners that Senator Scott has joined in advocating for their release following their wrongful imprisonment.
