Sen. Rick Scott Joins Sen. Roger Marshall in Letter Requesting Meeting on Broken Budget Process

March 20, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Rick Scott joined Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. and their colleagues in a letter to the Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, John Barrasso (R-WY), requesting a member meeting to discuss much-needed reforms to the budget process.

Since being elected to the Senate in 2018, Senator Scott has fought to reform Washington’s broken budget process and end reckless government spending. Earlier this Congress, Senator Scott reintroduced his bipartisan No Budget No Pay Act which would mandate that members of Congress must fulfill their basic job requirements and pass the annual budget resolutions and appropriations bills on time or forgo their taxpayer-funded salaries until the job is done.

The letter was also signed by Senators Ernst (R-IA), Lee (R-UT) and Johnson (R-WI).
