WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed a bipartisan resolution introduced by Senator Rick Scott and Senator Jacky Rosen celebrating May as Jewish American Heritage Month. This resolution celebrates the many contributions of Jewish Americans to the United States and calls on elected officials, faith leaders, and civil society leaders to condemn and combat any and all acts of antisemitism. Senator Rick Scott said, “I am proud to see the unanimous passage of our bipartisan resolution recognizing Jewish American Heritage Month and honoring the wonderful contributions of Jewish Americans to our great nation. As we witness a disgusting rise in antisemitism across America, the action taken by the U.S. Senate today sends a clear message that we stand proudly with Jewish Americans and against hate and antisemitism wherever it is found. In Florida, we are blessed to be home to many vibrant Jewish communities. I will continue my work with leaders at the local, state and federal level to support them and their right to live safely and pursue their American Dream.”
Senators Rubio, Gillibrand, Grassley, Menendez, Cramer, Kaine, Hagerty, Warnock, Lankford, Cortez Masto, Barrasso, Padilla, Crapo, Fetterman, Cassidy, Wyden, Risch, Hickenlooper, Graham, Baldwin, Cotton, Van Hollen, Hoeven, Murray, Blackburn, Kelly, Shaheen, Cardin, Duckworth, Casey, Ossoff and Schumer joined Senators Scott and Rosen in co-sponsoring the resolution.
Senator Jacky Rosen said, “At a time when antisemitism is at a record high in America, it’s more important than ever to celebrate Jewish heritage in the United States. I’m proud to have helped introduce and unanimously pass this bipartisan resolution to honor the countless contributions Jewish Americans have made to our nation’s history and culture. I’ll keep fighting in the Senate to build a more inclusive, welcoming nation where Jewish Americans can proudly express their faith and identity.”

Last year the U.S. Senate also unanimously passed this bipartisan resolution recognizing Jewish American Heritage Month. The resolution, introduced by Senators Rick Scott, Jacky Rosen, Tim Scott and Ben Cardin, and cosponsored by 33 senators. Read more HERE.
Senator Scott has been adamant about protecting students at American colleges and universities who continue to be threatened by terrorist sympathizers calling for the eradication of Jewish people and the destruction of Israel. Senator Scott is fighting to pass his and Senator Tim Scott’s Stop Antisemitism on College Campuses Act. This bill would rescind federal education funding for colleges and universities that peddle antisemitism or authorize, fund or facilitate events that promote violent antisemitism.
Additionally, Senator Rick Scott joined Senators Bob Casey and Tim Scott to introduce the Antisemitism Awareness Act. The bill will help address antisemitic sentiment and action on college campuses—which has been rising across the nation for years and spiked in the wake of Hamas’ terrorist attack on October 7, 2023—by requiring the U.S. Department of Education to consider the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism when enforcing federal anti-discrimination laws.
