WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, following the disappointing announcement of the fourth quarter Gross Domestic Product (GDP), showing economic growth slowed to 2.3% at the end of 2024, Senator Rick Scott released the following statement highlighting the abysmal failures of the Biden-Harris administration’s reckless tax-and-spend agenda that fueled widespread economic hardships on Floridians. Last year, under the Biden-Harris administration debt grew faster than GDP. Additionally, the average CPI inflation under the last year of the Biden-Harris administration was 3.1% while GDP growth was 2.3% last quarter—meaning inflation grew faster than the U.S. economy.

Senator Rick Scott said, “Today’s GDP report showed that under Joe Biden’s administration, inflation outpaced GDP over his entire FOUR YEARS. The Biden administration left this nation and its families worse off – they have less in savings, less buying power with their hard-earned dollars, less food on the table and less opportunity than they did four years ago. This is exactly why Americans are ready to leave Biden’s abysmal economy behind and even more ready to see President Trump welcome America into its Golden Age.”
