Sen. Rick Scott Applauds Australia’s Rejection of Communist China’s Belt and Road Offer
April 21, 2021
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Rick Scott released the below statement applauding the decision by the Australian government to cancel four state agreements made with Communist China under Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative.
In December, Senator Rick Scott sent a letter to Prime Minister Scott Morrison thanking him for Australia’s efforts to fight against Communist China’s quest for world domination, and affirming the United States’ support as the two nations continue to stand strong against Communist China. Senator Scott also wrote to Prime Minister Morrison earlier this month urging him to join global efforts to move the 2022 Olympic Games out of Communist China and to a nation that respects human rights.
Senator Rick Scott said, “Communist China’s Belt and Road Initiative has one mission, to extend its control over other nations and advance its quest for world domination. I applaud the decision of the Australian government to stand up to Communist China and refuse to take part in General Secretary Xi’s master plan. I hope every nation around the world that has agreed to projects with Beijing will recognize the Communist Party’s sinister geopolitical strategy and follow Australia’s example.”
